James Sewell Ballet presents
“Amahl and the Night Visitors”
Nov. 29-Dec. 3

James Sewell Ballet's annual production of “
Amahl and the Night Visitors” will be
presented at The Ritz Theater, Wednesday through Sunday, Nov. 29-Dec. 3.
“Amahl” is a one-act opera by Gian Carlo Menotti composed for NBC-TV in 1951. It tells the heart-warming story of a little boy, his widowed mother, and the extraordinary night they were visited by the Three Kings on their star-guided journey to Bethlehem. The dancers dramatize the story with several movement styles, including American Sign Language. The running time of 50 minutes makes “Amahl” an excellent holiday choice for the entire family.
Eight performances will be offered:
Wednesday, Nov. 29, 7:30pm; Thursday, Nov. 30, 7:30pm;
Friday, Dec. 1, 7:30pm; Saturday, Dec. 2, 11am, 1pm, and 7:30pm; Sunday, Dec. 3, 1pm and 3pm.
