Minnesota Icon Dance Troupe EDT Honors Muslim Cultures with Music and Dance

Return engagement due to popular acclaim. Twin Cities based Ethnic Dance Theatre (33rd season) takes a look behind the headlines and through the veil to share the joys and sorrows of our Islamic neighbors around the world.

Smell the kabobs, see the minarets and graceful arabesques through the exotic, exhilarating and romantic music and dance of Uzbekistan, Indonesia, Bosnia, Albania, Iran, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Egypt and Afghanistan.

The Ethnic Dance Theatre’s mission is to foster understanding and awareness of world cultures through the re-creation and presentation of traditional ethnic dance and music. In a society where racial tensions are prevalent, EDT believes it is vital to promote and project the inherent beauty, dignity, and integrity of all peoples.
