The Dream Channel fuses Film Noir, Reality TV and Franks’ urbane aesthetic to create a witty, deranged and sublimely bizarre dance-theater work of poetic sensuality. On The Dream Channel human frailty, aspiration, and subconscious desire are broadcast 24 hours a day complete with commercial interruption.
This is Frank’s first full evening length production since her acclaimed Beauty and the Beast won Best Dance Performance at the 2004 MN Fringe Festival. Franks, a 21-year Ballet of the Dolls veteran, has spent the past three years dividing her time between Manhattan and Minneapolis. A sneak-preview engagement of The Dream Channel will be presented at the Paul Taylor Studios in New York City on February 1st and 2nd.
